Thanks for visiting my services page! My mission is to provide beauty education, inspiration and services for all your needs from the audition to the red carpet. From product recommendations for on-camera and real life, to lessons learned from auditions & working on set, to self care and confidence tips are all coming to the blog of being the best human and actress you can be. I’m still growing and learning, and hope we can grow together.

I have a unique experience and want to share everything I’ve learned so far in the entertainment industry. I’ve starred on over 16 television shows, like 911 Lonestar, Grey’s Anatomy, Shameless, a national Walmart holiday campaign and Toyota holiday commercial and have auditioned hundreds of times. HUNDREDS. Combining that with being a MAC Cosmetics makeup artist for over 8 years and freelancing for myself me to create Look The Part Book The Part (LTPBTP). I’ve worked as a casting assistant to a feature film casting director and at a casting networking studios where I learned both from the casting and actor side. I began finding that many actors struggled with their imaging and styling, as far as makeup goes. Then in audition waiting rooms, many actresses found out I was also a MUA and began asking me for skincare and beauty tips. Even photographers and session directors have encouraged me to help people realize the importance of basic beauty. This is where I come in. With diverse qualifications and experience in both on-camera and behind the scenes gives me a unique eye so I can help you find the right makeup styling for you and your casting to make the most of your headshots or lifestyle needs.

Working with Alyssa was so fun and relaxed! I loved having her do my make up for my latest headshot session. In addition to giving me a pretty and natural look, she was also on standby ready for touch ups as we went- which made it so I could just focus on the shoot because I knew she was taking care of me.

Alyssa is a dream! From our initial conversation to shoot day, she understood my needs and wants and excellently executed the looks I desired! She is a fantastic energy that gets along with everyone and is a team player in making sure you feel like a total pampered rockstar. I could not be more thrilled with my photos. She perfectly catered to my wants and needs all while keeping an eye to make sure things stayed that way throughout the day! You will be in great hands with her. Thank you Alyssa!

Alyssa did my makeup for my latest headshot session, and I loved the work she did so much that I hired her again for a short film I worked on! She can execute any kind of look you need—she took me from a “no makeup-makeup” look to a sensual, smokey-eye look to a retro look all in one day for my headshots. She has such a caring and calm presence on set—she’s a total professional and also knows what it is to be on the other side of the makeup chair, since she works frequently as an actress. She is the total package! Hire this woman!

Things To Know

Prior to all makeup applications, I like to have a phone consultation with you so we can discuss your looks. This helps us game plan so we can go in and shoot confidently and efficiently in an order that makes most sense for hair and makeup. This helps us determine when to add the liner, change the lip, add a curl, etc. Conversations are typically the day prior and about 15 minutes. Please be prepared.

Please note, that upon working together I will send you a “What To Expect” sheet for us to work together. This breaks down the services I include and don’t include, and how you can be best prepared for our phone call.

Image consulting and styling is something I have done in the past specifically for actors, but do not offer that as a service during our phone call. This has been a recurring issue where clients take an additional 30 minutes of time asking me what I think you should do for your headshots. That’s for you and your agent/manager to decide. If that’s a service you need, I’d be glad to offer you an additional service or referral to someone.

Men’s Headshot Styling

IMG_0507 Edit.jpg
Since my session with Alyssa I almost immediately enjoyed consistent auditions and shortly booked for King’s Hawaiian. More importantly, she was so easy and friendly to work with that there was no ‘work’ to the work. Alyssa also gave me important tips that I now use regularly for my skin care. I can’t recommend her enough for your session. Paul Major, Actor
  • $150. The Men’s Skin Essential Skin Prep. Skincare and color correction, light hair styling (no grooming, ex. barber shears, beard trim.) Men, if you’re on set, chances are you’re gonna get a bit of color correction. You won’t look like you have any makeup on, I promise. Photographers usually tell me it makes the editing process much easier in post and there’s less touchups needed, so it’s worth the small investment. Men’s shoots tend to be quick, and this is an hour rate. Any additional hours is $50 per hour. *Please note, as of May 2021, there is a $25 travel fee to client locations outside of The Valley. (DTLA, Silver Lake, SM, WeHo, Culver City, West Side, Pasadena, etc.)

“Aly is amazing! She did a fabulous job on my makeup for my wedding. I told her the esthetic that I was looking for and she nailed it right away. She instantly could read my style and knew exactly how to accentuate my features in way that looked both beautiful and natural. I have oily skin and she knew just what to do to keep me shine-free all day. One of the best things about Aly is her friendly and sweet personality. She helped make the best day of my life perfect. I could not recommend her enough!” Allison, bride

LESSON

  • $350, Step by step 2-look lesson. I love sharing my knowledge and passion for what’s worked for me on-camera and on set for both auditions and a night out. I want to educate y’all so you have the tools to make you feel amazing if I’m not available. We typically start with a soft, “no-makeup makeup” look, which is great for auditions and commercials! Then we graduate and build from that look onto something a bit more dramatic (but still soft and pretty!). So whether you’re getting ready for agent meetings, keep auditioning for leading lady or soap operas, have generals with casting, or just want to learn how to take your day makeup to a date night beauty look that’s perfect for you, I’ll make sure you can easily re-create it. This will run approximately 2 hours.*Please note, as of May 2021, there is a $25 travel fee to client locations outside of The Valley. (DTLA, Silver Lake, SM, WeHo, Culver City, West Side, Pasadena, etc.)

  • Corporate lessons are also available. Example: Working with a company to onboard new staff and instructing on makeup application within company standards for all skin tones and textures.

Lesson Testimonial

Imagine the thrill of finding a makeup artist who had already booked dozens of enviable film and tv credits as an actor.

In a headshot, Alyssa knows what the camera sees, what casting directors pick and what producers book. For my headshots, Alyssa gave me a fresh, glowing Glam’n’Go look in the morning. All afternoon, my headshot photographer kept remarking, “Your skin looks flawless. How did she do that?” Not one bit of the retouching done on my headshots involved makeup (my bangs were rebellious that day).

Alyssa’s Glam’n’Go look knocked it out of the park. The EP on one of my dream shows just passed my new headshots on to their casting director. The feedback was that my headshots are “formidable.” I am so thankful to have booked my makeup session with Alyssa!

Lesson: I never wore makeup growing up. As a full-fledged adult, I’ve felt really intimidated by it. Alyssa gave me a clean, fresh Glam’n’Go look for my headshots that prompted me to immediately book a lesson with her. My new headshots looked great, and I needed to be able to reproduce that look in my auditions.

Alyssa gave me a fantastic lesson. She explained the steps to creating each look. She gave great directions and gentle corrections as I tried my hand at it. I had to submit a self-tape two days later, and my reps remarked how good I looked. Alyssa’s lesson made me feel more confident in working with makeup to make my look on-camera more impactful in all the right ways.
