Witty Bian Stone Gua Sha Review

Witty Bian Stone Gua Sha review

Y’all know before any big job, filming, audition, and or just a Tuesday morning… I love to Gua Sha. It makes my skin glow, makes me feel good and looks less puffy. A win in my book.

This is so long over due, but I’ve officially found my favorite Gua Sha stone. My friend Amy had shown me her stone that was similar to one that I’m coveting that’s $200, and she found hers from another online retailer so since I started with the beginner Gua Sha and having done it for the past year to keep me sane, I decided to upgrade to a big girl Gua Sha.

See my my previous review and full benefits of Gua Sha here.

Why Witty

They’re a small, family owned business and it’s important for me to support small businesses as much as I can. I found their stone on Amazon and was glad they were a small retailer.

Why The Bian Stone

Apparently, the Bian stone has been used in ancient Chinese beauty/health rituals and this particular stone as 40 minerals that help detoxify the body and is said to increase blood circulation, hence promoting overall health.

Why I love this particular Gua Sha

There are so many options, I love them all so much! It comes with really nice detailed instructions for any level user. Depending on my time in the morning, I may just do 3-5 strokes. If I am feeling extra tired and need a boost or want a more spa like feel at night, I’ll do 8-10 strokes per area, and remember to hold the stone at an angle that’s close to or nearly flat against your skin, about a 15 degree angle. Remember to always support your skin with your opposite hand. Please follow estheticians and facialists who share proper instructional videos. Below is a brief description of how I use the tools based on what I’ve learned and what works for me.

I always start with my neck, moving from the base of my neck all the way around. I am sure to be incredibly light and gentle (I hardly apply pressure) around the thyroid area. I scrape upwards to get the lymphatic system moving using the large combed edge. The curved comb edge is a game changer! It feels so nice, your body will start to get warm. It’s really amazing!

Then I start along my jaw line using a detailed “U” hook edges. I love the hooked edges because they really cup the bone and face. I use the “tighter” hook for my jaw line and the “wider” hooked edge to go along my orbital/cheek bone. You’ll feel the difference on your face when you use light pressure.

I use the flat base to start my nose to get the fluid moving towards my eyes/cheek area, then gently drag it outwards on my under eye. Keyword: gently. You don’t want to pull the delicate under eye area.

Then I go on the brow bone with the larger hooked edge, to cup and gently drag the fluid out.

The flat edge I like to use on my forehead to gently move the fluid out. I will start near my 11’s (that are hardly there thanks to Gua Sha!) and if I’m working the right side, I’ll start at my left brow and support the skin, and gently work the 11 fascia out and drag all the way up and out.

Now… if you want to be REALLY extra… this is what I like to do at night time or if I have an audition that day…

I go over my lips and laugh lines with the straight edge comb to move that fascia out. (Please look up estheticians for proper use of the tools and support your skin). I swear this helps plump my lips and helps with my laugh lines.

Then, I go into the cheek area with the curved comb, supporting the skin, I go from the mouth and hug the contours of my cheek and gently pull up and out into the hair line.

NOW FOR MY FAVORITE THAT I SWEAR MY WRINKLES ARE GOING AWAY!

I saw a facialist use this method for forehead lines and wrinkles. Supporting the skin, using the flat comb edge, holding it horizontally, gently do little zig-zags about half an inch section at a time. Then move your supporting finger, and move upwards and repeat a few times all over the forehead. I’ve been doing this, the little zig zags and then finish with the flat edge to finish and soothe… and I swear, my forehead wrinkles have been diminishing. They’re hardly there. It’s restructuring my skin, and it’s really amazing to see the results with the comb detail edges!

The flat corner point is also really nice to use for acupressure points if you’re into that like me.  I also really like the hooked over edge, along the logo, to grip the stone. I feel like it’s less likely to slip out of my hand with all the oil. They say you can use that along the jawline, but prefer the hooked U-edges.

And best of all, not only is the stone beautiful, works well, comes with instructions and a little pouch and box… the price point. It retails for $39.97 and I see it online right now for $25.97 (Jan 26, 2021) under new arrivals. I honestly can say, as a girl who is Gua Sha OBSESSED, this is definitely my favorite. Sure, a simple one is amazing. I combine the two to get the details I love to work on, but I love all of the options, versatility and especially the effect the combed edges has on me and my skin. This is a 10 out of ten in my book!!

So head on over, check them out! They have plenty of other stones, rollers and other natural beauty products. Note, this is not sponsored in anyway, I am just an absolute fan and am happy to help small businesses!! Happy Gua Sha!! When you get yours, tag me so I can repost on my stories!
